Stuart Atwell is our referee, we had him for our first home game after lockdown against Crystal Palace.

Otherwise he has been our referee in the two home draws against London clubs West Ham and Arsenal.

More Of The Same Commitment Needed Sunday

All we ask to see from the team we support is they go out on the pitch and give their all. We saw that against Spurs at Dean Court on Thursday night and we picked up our first point since the lockdown and since we drew with Chelsea at Dean Court back in February. We could so easily have had 3 points but for Callum Wilson’s overhead kick and the ball touching Josh King’s hand on the way into the net. Spurs also probably feel they should have had a first half penalty when Harry Kane was brought down in the area. But that is 4 points taken from Spurs at home in the last two seasons. Now we need to see the same display from our team against our next opponents at Dean Court. Eddie Howe would have been pleased with the fact our defence didn’t concede a goal and restricted Spurs to no shots on target for the first time this season.

Our next visitors at home are Leicester City who are in 4th place in the Premier League. In January they signed Ryan Bennett on loan from Wolves for the rest of the season, with a view to buy.
Leicester City had a good turn of form between 19th October and 6th December winning eight Premier League games on the trot, home and away. In all since we played them at the end of August, away from home before the lockdown break, they have won 6 games and that included that 0-9 at Southampton in that eight match run. They have drawn 1 and lost 5. Since lockdown away they have drawn against against Watford and Arsenal and lost against Everton. At home before lockdown they have won 9, drawn 3, lost 3. Since lockdown they have beaten Crystal Palace, drawn with Brighton.

The last time we played Leicester City at home we beat them 4-2.

In all our home league games, AFCB have Won 3, Drawn 2, Lost 3. In all competitions AFCB have Won 5, Drawn 5, Lost 8.

AFCB Team News
Apart from Charlie Daniels, Chris Mepham and Simon Francis who have been out with knee injuries, we had two players who had to be substituted against Spurs. Adam Smith who was taken off on a stretcher with a head/facial injury, so he will probably miss the game on Sunday. David Brooks from what has been said it is unsure whether it is a calf strain or cramp, so he could be available for selection.

AFCB Player To Watch
After a good team performance against Spurs, one 21-year-old has looked good in his last two games and that is our signing from Bristol City, Lloyd Kelly. We haven’t seen much of him since his signing due to injury, but in his last two games he has looked the ‘business’. Apart from our fans if he keeps up this form, there will be a lot of other eyes on him as well.

Leicester Team News
A big loss for them could be the absence of James Maddison in midfield, with a groin injury. Ben Chilwell has been out with a foot injury. Ricardo Pereira out with a knee injury and Daniel Amartey with an ankle injury.

Leicester Player To Watch
Jamie Vardy seems to have found his scoring boots again. Having failed to find the net in his previous 3 league games, has scored 3 goals in his last two games, a brace at home against Crystal Palace and another in the away draw with Arsenal. He is the top scorer in the Premier League with 22 goals. He also scored a brace against us back in August last year.

I think smith will be available won't he? probly got just a big bruise

The injury website says potential return 15th July.

Was he unconscious? He was given oxygen.

Found this. From SSN

The FA and Premier League have set out clear 'return to play' guidelines for players who are suspected to have suffered concussion. Essentially, no player will be allowed to return for a competitive game for at least six days.

There is no blood test or scan which can diagnose concussion. Diagnosis is made on the basis of history and examination.

The guidelines work on a step-by-step basis, with a player only allowed to progress a step every 24 hours - although this process can often take longer. The steps are: No physical activity, light aerobic exercise, sport specific exercise, non-contact training drills, full contact training, return to play (after an all-clear from the club's medical officer).

Update on Team News.

Eddie Howe gave an update on Smith after the match and confirmed in his Friday press conference that he won’t be ready for the weekend clash with the Foxes.

“Adam Smith will miss the Leicester game for sure with the injury that he suffered last night,” explained the manager, before going onto to talk about the other injury issues in his squad.

“We’ve got a few bumps and bruises from the game, David Brooks came off, we think that’s just cramp but we’ll wait and see today to find out more.

“Steve Cook’s had a hamstring problem, that’s still not 100% even though he was on the bench yesterday, that’s the extent of our injury news.”

Ramsdale

Stacey Ake Kelly Rico

Brooks Lerma Gosling Stanislas

King

Wilson

It has to be the same team to start, with the exception of Stacey in for Smith, assuming the Books sub was purely precautionary.

In the past we have needed fresh legs after a midweek game. At least 5 subs means can mix it up after an hour

Having momentum is going to be key. We’ve had none at all but we might just have picked up a bit against Spurs. The short turn around might do us a favour if we can carry something forward

Leicester will come at us aggressively I suspect....they will want to overtake Chelsea and keep ahead of Manu who will be after that 4th spot. Its going to be Tasty and Testy!

No point accepting a draw as an ok result now. Three points or nothing. Take the shackles off and go after them. Let's have our old AFCB back!

It’s a bit like when there is a major power cut and certain areas are gradually switched back on.

The London area and North of it have come back on first and the Midlands and South of England might have just been switched back on a little too late.

A thought for anyone wanting a new angle:

We go into tonights game and others in the relegation battle......with maybe 3 or 4 players who, by virtue of the fact they are certain they will move to ' bigger clubs or just other PL squads ..they are NOT actually being relegated to the Championship....
...so hardly going to risk injury.
and Fraser... was he still being paid while the others Re- started.
If we stayed up. .the same Tinpot scenario
could occur next season.
A reason I will not be tearful tonight if we lose and are doomed.
In the case of Ake....he has excelled for this club so I would not be bitter about his moving on... but the whole thing is irritating to say the least.

We also had showed promotion form in the second half of the season, having had 9 points at the half way stage, and it was five down that season.

Never forget that Brentford game though.
