AFC Meaning?

Neither. AFC was not designed to mean anything other than AFC. It was just to be trendy and modern-sounding to match the adoption of the red and black kit the year before.
 
Erik is right. Many people have presumed but its never been officially confirmed as meaning anything other than AFC on it's own.

Given part of the ploy was to get the club at the top of the FA Cup draw you may as well assume it's Aardvark Football Club.

And that ploy really worked didn't it,! Besides our famous win V Man Utd our 'false' FA Cup number as a result of that ploy has resulted in some shocking FA Cup draws over the years, especially during the times when we were desperate for cash!

Indeed, who have we been draw against today?!

Let's get rid of that ridiculous and meaningless 'AFC' and bring back the name Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic! We will also get our 'true' FA Cup number back in the process.
 
It was widely perceived that we retained Athletic from our long name so no reason to assume AFC had no meaning.

I used to like but so many failed clubs adopt the moniker Afc now so has a tainted feel.
 
I've never recognised Afcb....its bloody awful.
We are who we are and have always been Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic Football club.....or if ya like Boscombe St Johns...that's better than afcb.

Opposition fans always look baffled when we chant “ Boscombe - back of the net “ at corners ...
