First Meeting Away Since Our Championship Winning Season

The home game against Birmingham City on Wednesday night was a much better performance from our side than in recent games. We now need to keep that momentum going for the remaining games of this season.

The Cherries are on their travels for their next game, up to the North West coast in Lancashire to play a rival seaside resort Blackpool at their Bloomfield Road stadium, their home ground since 1901 at 3pm on Saturday. The last time our club visited their ground was five days before Christmas Day 2014, our Championship winning season, as our club went up into the Premier League for the first time.

Blackpool I think are the only football league club that play in the Netherlands international colour of Tangerine, hence their nickname. This will be another hard game for AFCB in their quest for points towards the goal of automatic promotion into the Premier League for the second time.

Blackpool are unbeaten in their last five games, their best so far this season. They won their last three home games, beating Hull City and Millwall 1-0 and in their last home game Bristol City 3-1 and drawn the last two away games 1-1 against Championship leaders Fulham and on Tuesday night at Coventry. This season at home Blackpool have won 8 games, drawn 2 and lost 6.

The last time we played at Bloomfield Road (mentioned above), the Cherries ran riot scoring 6 goals and conceding 1. We had five players on the score sheet, Matt Ritchie with a brace, Callum Wilson, Brett Pitman (penalty), Marc Pugh and Harry Arter.

In our away results in the league against Blackpool, AFCB have W 6, D 4, L 8.
All competitions, AFCB have W 14, D 11, L 17.

Blackpool Team News
Luke Garbutt, James Husband, Keshi Anderson, Marty Virtue and Grant Ward all have been out with injuries. Richard Keogh went off injured on Tuesday night at Coventry. They signed Jack Beesley from Rochdale. On loan, Owen Dale from Crewe Alexander and Charlie Kirk from Charlton.

Blackpool Player To Watch
Josh Bowler a player who we were linked with in the January transfer window has been showing good form. Scored in the games against Fulham where he was also MOM and Bristol City on Saturday. Gary Madine has scored 6 goals and has scored in the last two games.

AFCB Team News
Ryan Christie went off injured on Wednesday night, so hope he isn’t too bad. Jefferson Lerma will miss the game due to the red card he received against Birmingham City. Though the club may appeal.

AFCB Player To Watch
Sriki Dembele might get his first start after coming on for the injured Ryan Christie, he looks like an exciting player in the short time he was on the pitch when we were down to 10 men. Dominic Solanke would have had a real boost scoring his first goal after failing to find the net in his previous three Championship games. Todd Cantwell impressed on his full debut on Wednesday night.

The Referee
Dean Whitestone will be in charge of this game and it will be the fourth time this season he has officiated at our games. Previously was at home in the first game of the season against West Brom. Then away at Stoke and Millwall.

Blackpool have issued an appeal to supporters after fan-related incidents after recent anti-social behaviour inside Bloomfield Road at home matches.

The club, working in collaboration with Lancashire Police, have threatened block closures in the North Stand of the stadium if the disturbances do not cease in future fixtures.

Blackpool have further stressed that recent fan trouble is 'severely harming their reputation' and warned that further incidents could have implications on ticket pricing and even the available budget to the first-team squad.

In victories over Millwall and Bristol City, missiles aimed at visiting supporters have been acknowledged and recorded and Blackpool, in conjunction with Lancashire Police, are making a concerted effort to stamp out the anti-social behaviour which they say has 'blighted' recent results.

Millwall, Bristol City? Wait till they encounter the Zimmer Crew this weekend, they won;t know whats hit them. I heard the police have ordered all bingo halls to be closed that weekend and shops aren;t allowed to serve Werthers Originals before kick off on Saturday.

Intel indicates they're looking out for gatherings of 60/70 year old + men, not wearing stone island/belstaff, but cloth caps.

Perhaps I had better go in disguise then.

I know a song about that;
We got super Scotty Parker,
He knows exactly what we need,
With oldies in flat caps,
And Werthers by the pack,
Bournemouth's going to the Premier League.

My daughter was in the Barnsley away end earlier this season and was texting me during and after the game that things were getting quite ugly. I assumed it was a Lancashire v Yorkshire rivalry thing but perhaps not by the sound of it
