Why do we bother with the 'assists' statistic? Assuming it means the player who passed the ball to scorer ... Well someone has to do it and the whole team is often involved bringing the ball forward so they are assisting as well!
The only thing that is in the result is the goal! I just don't get it that people are anorak enough to bother with it and and count them up!
 
Well we all loved Phil Boyer - he would have topped the assist charts of the day. Ted would have scored a lot less without him!

Alan Nixon currently seems to think you are very keen on Bobby Reid.
To confirm comments made above, until twelve months ago he was seen as a talented but slightly frustrating and lightweight midfielder. Lee Johnson felt he should try being a striker and this season he has been a revelation. He’s very fit and buzzes around endlessly harrying defenders. Although he looks boyish, he’s actually now about 25.

What type of striker is he? Our manager likes strikers who have pace and run the channels. However, the likelihood is, if he did sign for us, he’d play as a number 10 behind the main striker. Is that a role you think he could play?
