Callum out for 3-4 weeks

Think King is better as an out an out striker on his own. They do work well together but it's Kings attitude when up front without Callum he seems to get more involved.

Agreed, Joshua’s had some of his best scoring spells in Callum’s absence

Be nice if he could carry on tonight’s form over the next few games

3 weeks ago this would have been a major blow and worry, whilst it still is we’ve shown what we can do without him.

Plus Solanke is fit!

Wilson's knees will need looking after and managing, perhaps for the rest of his career. So if having this procedure and getting a few weeks rest keeps him fit and fighting until May, then it's well worth it. It's a shame, but it's not like we haven't got goals elsewhere in the side.

If there is ever a good time to be out it is now. Only 3 games in Feb. Could be back for Wolves and only miss 2.

I wonder if it’s been known for a while he might need this minor procedure at some point? Now that Solanke appears to be available, they’ve decided this is the time to get it done.

Also seems to be interesting timing in terms of the transfer window. Even if someone might have hit the panic button today and offered us a ridiculous amount, the fact he's out for several weeks I think will mean he's completely ruled out as an option for everyone. Very smart.

Seems like this is even less than Smith's repair, so hopefully not for long. Just hope it doesn't stall his fledgling England career, but that's end of March so hopefully all guns blazing by then

Would still prefer Callum, he's far more clinical in front of goal.

They both offer something slightly different in the number 9 role. It worked well against Chelsea, once King was able to hold on to the ball and do a bit of hold up play. First half, every second touch was a tackle and he's been like that quite a lot this season.

Against Cardiff, I'd have preferred Wilson as the style and pace of the game would have suited him better as opposed to the counter-attack that suits King best.

We're lucky to have them both as options and with Solanke waiting in the wings, we're almost spoilt.

Wilson holds the ball up better and makes more runs, then King is a more take them on type of player, both press well and both finish well
