Up For The Cup!

After our poor showing in the heavy defeat agains Liverpool at Dean Court in the Premier League, on Wednesday night the Cherries travel to London to meet Chelsea in the Quarter Final of the League Cup. Chelsea beat Saints 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in their last Premier League game.

In the League Cup (EFL) this season Chelsea were drawn at home and in the 3rd round beat Nottingham Forest 5-1. In the 4th round they were drawn to play against fellow Premier League club Everton and won by 2-1.

The Cherries started their campaign in the 3rd round away against Birmingham City who at the time were managed by Harry Redknapp, the Cherries won by 1-2 with our goals coming from Ryan Fraser and Marc Pugh. In the 4th round we had Brighton on a Tuesday night at Dean Court, the previous Friday also at home, we beat them 2-1 in the Premier League. In the cup game the Cherries won with the only goal of the game which came in extra time, the goalscorer Josh King.

Chelsea Team News
Marcus Alonso is suspended under the totting up procedure. David Luiz is injured. Chelsea will field some fringe players in this game.

Chelsea Player To Watch
Not knowing who will be in the Chelsea team for this cup game, will go for the Brazilian Willian who played in the last round against Everton and scored. Not been an ever present in the Chelsea PL team this season and has been linked with a move to join his old manager at Manchester United.

AFCB Team News
Both Charlie Daniels and Josh King will miss out on this game due to injuries. Callum Wilson could be back for this game. We could see Jack Simpson start again for us.

AFCB Player To Watch
Eddie will be making changes for this game with the Manchester City game coming up at the weekend. Callum Wilson will probably play against Chelsea, so he is the player to watch.

Hey Billy... Didn’t we start in the second round? That was the game v Birmingham away. Third round was Brighton at home and the fourth round was Middlesbrough at home.

Correct :thumsd:

Wasn't concentrating enough as I was already starting on the Man C game for Saturday. The games are coming thick and fast.

This club doesn't get to many cup quarter finals, let's give it a go at least. Man City on Saturday is probably a write off either way, this is slightly more winnable.
