Cult hero

Just seen this on the bbc website got one for all clubs, can't disagree with ours.
Bournemouth
Sam Davis, Back of the Net
Brett Pitman is a cult hero for many a Cherry and integral to our rise through the divisions. His running style was unorthodox, he was not the fastest, but his eye for goal was unquestionable, with many Bournemouth fans labelling him as the most natural finisher at the club.

I mean, it's definitely Fletch, but in case anyone is interested, AFC Portchester are hosting an evening with Brett Pitman... Details are here

It will no doubt have a bit of a Portsmouth focus because of the location. I went to watch AFC Portchester a couple of months ago and he was lazier than ever, but still in the right place at the right time!

If you're of a certain age, it just has to be Alan Groves.

He's a bit closer to home on Saturday if anyone isn't going to Wolves.

I think it is important to determine the definition of a cult hero,
Google says a writer, musician, artist, or other public figure who is greatly admired by a relatively small audience or is influential despite limited commercial success

I therefore submit for your deliberation mo berthe

I quite agree.

And for the record pitman trumps Fletch and Ted Mac because he's an AFCB youth product.

And we wouldnt be in the Prem in 2015 without him. His incredible goal scoring records for the League 1 and League 2 promotions along with his contributions to the Championship season were unmatched.

Scoring in 8 of the last 11 matches to win promotion from League 2 and then 9 out of 11 to win promotion to the Championship. Talk about being on form at the right time. Those are insane stats.

A good number on here will remember Steve Jones.

Just listened to a very good and interesting down to earth interview with him.

It will bring back memories for some re the Great Escape and he mentions a certain high scoring game away at Peterborough against Barry Fry’s team.

Talking about our club is after 6 minutes, but the whole 36 minute interview is worth a listen.

Remember having a quick chat with him coming out of Wembley Stadium after that game against Grimsby Town.
