Don’t worry everyone. We’re actually 2nd place

The real point of interest is our squad value compared with all the others.

Fulham are next, 50 million ahead of us, from then on the gap just gets bigger.

Including Man United, 642 million.

Could be one of the reasons we got beat?

Of course it is. Although when our squad value was so much higher than the teams we played the last two years quite a few posters refused for it to be allowed to be a reason why we should have won certain games so you can’t have it both ways.

Ultimately money counts more than any other factor in my opinion but it is not the sole ingredient as has been proved often enough.

some of those numbers are eyewatering
even brighton and brentford's values are nearly double ours
fcuk knows why we bother getting on the same pitch as utd, city and arsenal

Very true. When we’re in the championship with a squad that is clearly far superior to 95% of others it’s all, “championship is a tough league to get out of, money doesn’t buy success, we have no divine right to expect to win, stop wetting the bed” etc etc etc

When we’re in the PL it’s, “how can we expect to compete, their squad costs more than ours” etc

Certain people just twist the narrative to suit their agenda, regardless of whether it contradicts what they’ve said before.

Waz my friend, you have been a walking contradiction for months.

Yes. If you wanted to summarise the evangelical section of this forum the contradictory use of the money argument is probably their number one thing in common.

It's not complicated. There's no guarantee of promotion if you have one of the strongest squads just like there's no guarantee of relegation if you have the weakest squad. If your manager and tactics aren't good enough you won't achieve your goal. There are countless examples of this.

You and Neil are guilty of the contradiction you describe, can you not see that?
