England-Germany penalty shoot out

Whoever thought it was a good idea to sit back with 25 minutes of normal time and go deeper and deeper and then not even mark any player and not even attempt to close the ball down needs shooting.

Horrific tactically from England in the second half and beyond of that game.

Think we need a better coach than boothroyd in charge. Having said, German football brings more talent through than we do where clubs with inflated cash budgets buy foreign players and wont risk younger players.

The fact that Aidy Bothroyd and Gareth Southgate are in charge of our national and under 21's team says it all really. Can have all the fancy facilities and technical players we want but until the FA sort themselves out and hire some foreign coaches in the short term whilst developing young English coaches in the long term, this will be the same for the next 50 years.

See English rugby for example
