That presumably means Smith's season is over
Possibly. Or that Davis will go back and he plans to use Smith as a left back option. Smith has been good this season but in all honesty Laird looks next level from what I’ve seen, such an attacking threat. His pace and power makes him unplayable at this level at times.

Stacey looks like a rabbit in the headlights a lot of the time and is poor defensively. Definitely a weak link imo.

Maybe , but those points haven't cost us too much looking at the league table.
I think it’s an area we needed an upgrade in tbh. Stacy has been poor recently. Even in his better game against QPR he was very lucky not to give a penalty away when he needlessly raised his arm in the area. It’s those kind of moments that make him a little bit of a defensive liability.
