3700 fans (a record for a reserve fixture?) at last night’s match at a distinctly chilly DC. Many of those present not even born when we went up to the PL. Does this mean - conclusively - that we have grown our fanbase? And we could fill a 20k stadium?

Possibly more for Arsenal in the Combination Cup (Willie Huck played for them)

Or West Ham? I remember being on the South End for that one, so maybe the whole ground was open?

Pretty sure I’ve been part of Paint Pot attendances that were lower than that.

Great turn out. Hopefully it helps younger families who struggle to get to a game to get the bug.

In days of old when the reserves used to play on a Saturday afternoon in the Football Combination League I’m sure they regularly got higher gates.

We apparently won the Combination Cup in 1948-49.

If this was played at DC it must have been a full house.

Certainly recall Football Combination games in late 60's and early 70's against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs etc when the attendances were a couple of thousand or more.
Youth Cup semi Final against Sunderland in the 70's was about 10,000 IIRC.
