With VAR helping these days why do no teams move out as the kick is taken? All the defenders seem to run back to cover the attackers, instead of moving forward.

What if an attacker or two take two steps with them and then break for the ball dropped in the now-vacated penalty area?

I agree. The old run forward a second before the balls kicked. No one would be ready for it these days. At least a couple of times in a game.
As another thread mentioned up, up, up Is O’Neils favoured shout. Maybe change to the old fashioned out, out, out.
