As soon as we started signing so called top players 40/50/K a week all turning up with there Lambos and Bentleys it must of had an effect on our main core of champs/heros they worked so hard to win the Championship on less than half of these big time Charlies pulling up in the carpark ..so does it change you as a person?? do you join them?? do you socialise with them? where does it all go wrong? it must piss some off like Cook, Pugh, Daniels ,Elphick and Franno and the others does it divide the dressing room? where does it all start to go wrong??

No, we had our fair share of ‘top players’ the season we finished 9th. It comes with the territory of getting promoted to the premier league.

"So does it change you as a person?" Interesting question.

It needn't, but evidently 'big-time Charlieism' comprises of different factors which put 'self' at the core of what is actually a team sport. Sadly, as Blandford_cherry puts it, it comes with the territory of the EPL.

One or two big time charlies can be accommodated into an existing group; any more than that and you end up destroying what can be a healthy club culture working towards group goals. But then it's nothing new, is it?

Wealth and attitude can often make footballers come across as fools. Then when they open an Instagram account, they remove all doubt.
