Although reading all the ‘armchair experts’ or politically skewed commentators who seem to believe every word news outlets such as Yahoo & The Guardian print, I really thought I’d manage to just stay silent & not rise to the bait. However, over time, the level of decency has clearly deteriorated from some who have been posting on this site, like Sorry Roger’s one that has since been deleted for example. People have been falling seriously ill & many have sadly died, yet certain posters on this site appear to relish in adding links to or repeating the utter rubbish published by some ‘journalists’ who will try their hardest to convince us all that the scientists, virologists & top medics, who have spent their entire working lives in their specialised fields, are doing everything wrong. I have lost all faith in journalists as so many seem to enjoy twisting things around in order to have a dig at this or that person who is in the unenviable position of trying to combat this new & deadly virus. Do I follow the team of experts who must have many hundreds of years experience collectively or do I follow the twisted self serving rants of some wannabe shock horror journalist? An easy decision for me I have to say. Sadly I have come to the conclusion that after over 40 years of supporting Afcb, I shudder at the sudden thought of maybe sitting next to a person who has views & morals similar to ‘Sorry Roger’ etc if/when the league re-starts, so I’m going to offer my seat to friends & bow out of this site now. I wish everyone well & hope they get through this awful time, regardless of who their parents were, what school they went to, who they vote for & what they believe in.
 
Ahh, The Guardian. That well known bastion of hatred.

There has always been the occasional absolute shocker of a post/poster that appears on here. Usually they disappear after a while (either the individual post or poster in general) but sometimes they linger like a bad smell. That's what the 'ignore' button is for.

I didn't see what was posted but I'm sure it can't be any worse than was posted by Resevoir_Red in the past. Like I said though, the ignore function is there for a reason.

If you want to have a flounce rather than use the simple solution though then off you go then. Good health to you in these difficult times.

It was nowhere near as bad as what reservoir_red posts. It was a post entitled "be afraid, be very afraid" then had a picture of Dominic Raab.

A sh*t post but hardly flounce worthy.

I was with you all the way until this bit.

Those views and morals are endemic in society, you maybe need to go live in a bunker in Montana to avoid contact with these kind of people, not just quit football

Oh, wow. And that caused this? Ok, it's very poor taste but a significant distance from some of the things I've seen posted.

To be fair, the admins are usually pretty hot at deleting stuff quickly. I'm sure they have better things to do with their time but fair play to them for keeping this place in check.

I'd maybe advise rayzor to avoid wide swathes of the internet at large. This place is a kindergarten in comparison, and a well policed one at that.
 
Always remember that the internet encourages people to say things they wouldn't dream of saying in person down the pub, in the office, at the match etc. And half the time they probably don't even really believe what they say, it's in a race to the bottom in a bid to be 'edgy' controversial, attention seeking, sparking discussion etc.

And sometimes we'll all occasionally say something that later upon reflection we realise was ill judged, poorly worded or flat out mistaken.

I think some of the comments that have arisen online in the last 24 hours fall into one or both of these categories.
 
There's a lot of drivel spouted on this site. If you don't agree to it, you should call it out, running away such as Rayzor is just cowardice.

I see things as they are. Others see things differently. Thankfully we are not all automatons otherwise I would have got bored of this site years ago.

Fair enough . Lets start with the drivel you been spouting about Boris being responsible for 4000 deaths but you start squealing racist at the mere mention of the Chinese .

That's what I remember of it. Bad taste but hardly the crime of the century.

Interesting that he/she flounces off after that post and not after Resevoir_Red said that the Jews were orchestrating a Muslim takeover of Europe to kill the white race off once and for all. Still, at least its not as bad as potentially unknowingly sitting next to someone who's read the Gaurdian.

What an absolute snowflake. Embarrassing really for a grown man/woman.

Some posters have had more comebacks on here than Cher.

He or she has probably retreated to their safe 'news' space in Facebook where all their prejudices and ill informed fears can be confirmed.
 
I'm not going to trawl back through the history of this message board but poor old Sorry Roger has been somewhat villified today and he(? just in case!) has never struck me as "one of the unpleasant ones" on here from what I can remember. And most of you will have a few names spring to mind when I say that.

I saw the post first time but at worst I'd chalk it down to "too soon". It'll be on the Have I Got News Facebook page before the week's out, providing the Boris situation doesn't escalate, I'm sure.

More than willing to give Sorry Roger a pass on this one.
