John Archer - RIP

Yes good worker bee inside forward. Missed a few scored a few. Great photo - mud and the hardy ones standing at the front of the old main stand. They were vulnerable when the cushions were being thrown….!

I went through secondary school known as Archer as I resembled a younger version of him and was an attacker.

Could have been worse. I could have been called Bumstead or even Coxon, although all three were quality players at the time.

RIP Dan. Great memories of those games he played in when he was with us.

He lived in Congleton and I did call on him to sign my Cherries A-Z. A few years ago this was and he was confined to a wheelchair. He was a really nice guy and we talked for quite a while about his time with us.
