John Sainty

I don’t remember if it was before his Hat-Trick that day at ‘Shots or whatever but he got involved in a full-blooded challenge with one their finest, who went to ground like a pole-axed rabbit, screaming for a foul, our JS stood over him waving the W*****r hand right in front of the “Main Stand”, Priceless memory! RIP John.
 
Over 100 games during Bond Era...important player in those teams...
...saw him play for England Schoolboys..
..one of our best ever imo. RIP
 
Great memories of John Sainty, none better than that day at Aldershot. An evening game. I think we were one nil down at 81 minutes? Many Bournemouth fans had started walking out behind the main stand and rushed back.

Sad news, as mentioned the hat trick at Aldershot in the last 10 minutes. One of them Sainty had chased a through ball which the keeper collected, the keeper then put the ball on the ground ready to kick it forgetting that Sainty was behind him. Sainty duly nipped round him, got the ball and dribbled it into the empty net. Classic.
