It doesn’t work like that. You tell the club online that you can’t make the game and they make your seat available for sale. If someone buys it you get credited 1/19th the cost of your ST by the club. Whoever buys the ticket pays the club whatever the single ticket price is, which might be the full price or a concessionary price depending on their circumstances.

The credits appear on your account and can be used for away matches or next year’s ST. I have done it a couple of times and, in each case, my seat was sold within half an hour.
 
I hope the club are careful not to give the tickets to Leeds fans. Last season during the massive game against Forest, a few managed to get tickets sitting with the home supporters.
