Time was, we survived by getting loans from further up the pyramid who often proved to be, shall we say, a mixed bag.

From those that went on to build a good career afterwards, is Joel Ward the last man standing in the Premier League? Excluding Adam Smith, who came to us.

There are definitely a few knocking around the Championship and lower but how about in the top tier?

Federici wasn't a loan but we had James Henry at the same time. A season or two before they also sent us a big centre half called Aaron Brown and SOD played him up front. presumably for a laugh.

I remember Ward-Prowse being strongly linked for a loan at one point, I think it may of been our original promotion season when he was still a teenager. Didn't happen..
