New AFCB shares issued

I don't think it matters.
I have held shares in this company for years, I won't be buying anymore as I don't believe in having all my eggs in one basket. All I would say is this company produces medicin people need, and are the world leaders in the insulin market. so the share price is not going to plummet any time soon.
I also invest in shipping, a large company that also show profits of over 20% each year.

Yes. I’ve been in and out of novo over the years for the reasons you state. I’m trying to work out if the split is a good thing when’s the best time to go back in as currently am not holding. Any thoughts on that well received you can dm me on that if you prefer not to answer in here

I know that the new Ozempic pen is in such demand that there is a waiting list for it,
Novo can't keep up and have just built a new production plant to try and keep up with demand.
Overweight media stars have started using it and now everybody overweight wants it.

Ozempic is a once-weekly injectable medication formulated to help adults with type 2 diabetes manage their blood sugar. Although not officially a weight loss drug, research suggests that people who take Ozempic may lose modest amounts of weight while on the medication. In fact, the active ingredient in Ozempic, known as semaglutide, is FDA-approved at higher doses for treating individuals living with obesity and other weight related medical problems under the name Wegovy.

Due to a Wegovy shortage coupled with Ozempic’s weight loss effects going viral on social media, people without type 2 diabetes have begun using Ozempic off-label for weight loss.
I think the fig below tells you what you need to know. profit and more profit

My physician is wildly enthusiastic about Ozempic and a similar drug, Mounjaro. He described them as "home runs"* and "maybe the best drugs we have ever had." They are both indicated for diabetes, one of them is also indicated for weight loss, I forget which. My doc said he thinks they will also get indications for hypertension, and maybe some other conditions. He has a patient with some form of leukemia and said the drug has lowered her white blood cell count substanially: "It affects whatever is irritating her bone marrow."
I realize this is quite a diversion from subjects AFCB football, but at least as interesting (to me, anyway) as some of the other diversions.

* Baseball term. It's like a Six in cricket, I believe. Very good.

Someone needs to explain this in simple terms for a simple person.
If I have 200 shares @ £10 a share and the company halves them...
do I get 400 shares @ £5 a share (same value)
OR 200 shares @ £5 a share (half the value)...

400 @ 5. The value doesn't change. Any benefit would have to be psychological, but management teams seem to love to do them. General Electric did something like a 1:6 reverse split a few years ago, probably hoping that it would help people forget what a dumpster fire GE became.

It will encourage investers to buy shares as the price before was too high.

After the share was split it fell slightly but has now recovered and showing a profit of around 10% from the split date. The share has risen fast today after the news of expected profits for the 3rd quarter.

Novo Nordisk shares still rising, another 10% since Oct 13th

Novo Nordisk shares hit a record high on Wednesday, as the Danish pharma group’s blockbuster weight-loss drugs powered a surge in sales and profits last year, cementing its position as Europe’s most valuable company. The Danish group reported that sales climbed 36 per cent to $33.7bn in 2023 while profits rose to almost $15bn, both above analysts’ expectations. Shares rose by 4 per cent to an all-time high in morning trading before falling back, leaving the company hovering around a $500bn market capitalisation for the first time.

I don't think it's too wise to be over confident about how all this is going to pan out in the mid/long -term future....OK enjoy it for the Now.

You will observe the position of Lorient in the Frog table......

Personally i'd be as happy to follow Boscombe if we were trotting out at Victoria Park v the Poppies in a local derby circa October 2050...my 100th birthday !

You mean as unhappy surely?

Speaking of Investments in Football Clubs.....anyone know what's going wrong at Lorient ?..seems no one concerned or mentioning it.....2 Wins from 19 games.....and in Bill Foley's portfolio.......just saying thats all...just saying !

It’s all part of Bill’s cunning plan. They get relegated and he picks up a majority holding on the cheap.
