Non - Derby County

Yet again fans pay the price for dodgy owners passing the fit and proper test. Every time this happens, why is someone not sacked from the FA who makes up the test that fails?

The way Derby weaseled their way out of relegation last season l find unpalatable and think they should suffer the same relegation so many other clubs had to, without getting 'special EFL negotiations'. That's complete bollox.

At the same time, the way the money's been spent... well, people in glass houses. The main difference between Derby's debt and ours? Eddie Howe. There are a litany of Championship clubs that spent well beyond their means backing average managers to chase promotion to the PL. We could easily have ended up as the L1 equivalent, Paul Groves being the first step in that direction. Fortunately the right man wanted to be here at the right time.

We've seen that having a talented squad isn't enough as two mediocre managers struggled to get a tune out of them. (JT is a club legend as assistant and that should never be forgotten.) Fingers crossed its third time lucky for us.

If not, there's a big bill to pay coming in the next few years...

Then we could be wondering how Derby rebuilt and whether we can do the same. Good luck to the fans, that's all I say there.

We as fans of our club have been there, seen the lows.

But we have also witnessed the highs and you can’t get any higher in our country than the PL, which we were members for a period of five consecutive seasons.

Think it has been a good learning curve for club and fans, but at the time It brought the club and fans closer together with the bucket collections and that unforgettable night at the Winter Gardens which was packed.

On paper at least Morris seemed a good owner, Derby fan lifelong who made himself millions via the candy crush mobile games and spent it on his club. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to have known how to run the club.

Derby must have a fair few greedy Jeff Mostyn/Neil Blakes draining their resources over the last 10 years and if you to the actions of one reckless manager like Paul Clement who spent £30m in 2015 with no sales in Championship which would be treble in todays market. Apart from COVID which every club has faced or paying over the odds wages and not reaching the PL since 2008 I see no other reason as they have made net gains in transfers since 2016 and get good crowds.

I remember during our Championship-winning season when after the January transfer window everyone thought Derby would be the team to beat , they’d brought in some decent players to give them a promotion boost …
We played them in that cracking 2-2 draw at DC and they looked v strong ….
Then it all went pear-shaped for them again and they just fell away …..
Something at the club has been clearly lacking for years for that to keep happening….

One thing that will be interesting to observe from afar is what the administrator does with Derby's category 1 academy. They're meant to be losing a 7 figure sum every month as a club and the administrators will look to cut costs wherever they can. Closing the academy would be a £2-5 million/year saving straight away. Unless it's going to be one of those pre-pack jobs with the buyer already in place, that could be a painful development for them.

Oh, and presumably the guy who put them into admin will retain ownership of their stadium since the sale of that to him is what kicked a lot of this off.

What a mess it is there.

If the administrator thinks that there is evidence of anything dodgy with a transaction then they are able to unwind it IIRC.

Apparently they owe Phillip Cocu £8m, so they were paying him around £3m a year on a 4 year deal after he nearly got a big club like Fenerbache relegated from Turkish league. Neil Blake should team up with this mystery person who runs Derby and has I presume played Mel Morris. Please phuck off Mostyn aswell you support Man City you kunt, phucking liar pretending he's a fan and when Eddie left he vanished because he's a rat only got his face in papers when we get promoted and took no responsibility to the adversity that followed. Dodged every question ever asked, a typical politician at boardroom level, played the fans and betrayed Eddie who did everything for this club.

What an absolute coward you are.

So who was most hard done to

1) AFCB - Relegated by a goal that should have been but wasn't

2) Wycombe - Relegated due to accounts being filed late thus avoiding an immediate points deduction

3) ESL teams getting fined 57p and a coke bottle lid

12 point deduction now official.

Wayne Rooney apparently is paid by one of the clubs betting sponsors, so he will be staying as his departure would not save them any money.

They could still have a seperate points deduction for the other stuff !!!!!

That in itself looks dodgy. So players and management could each be paid by a separate legal entity external to the club ?

FFP anyone ?
