Non- Favourite Concert Ever ....

1967 - The most amazing package tour ever arrived at the Winter Gardens:
Jimi Hendrix
The Move
Pink Floyd
The Nice
Amen Corner
Eire Apparent
The Outer Limits

............................and all for around 50p a ticket.
Wasn't that pre decimal

Whitesnake at the Hammy O in 1980 and 1981
Lizzy at the Poole Arts Centre
Y&T at the Robin in Bilston (great venue)
Mr Big in Wolverhampton
Slade at the Winter Gardens twice

For sheer unadulterated fun and letting off steam, I’d go for the Slade pre-Christmas gigs

All seems very samey so far. Not one to be pigeonholed…

Puff Daddy - Birmingham 2000
Oasis - Rose Bowl, Southampton 2005
Take That - Cardiff 2011

The Pogues at Cambridge corn exchange, late 80s/ early 90s. Shane was "otherwise busy" so Joe Strummer (RIP) was on lead vocals. Lots of Clash songs in the set. It was fucking awesome

Book ends of my concert going life. Both concerts fit into the not to be forgotten category.

Queen at The Winter Gardens 1975.
Rammstein - Cardiff 2022

As others have said, too many to mention but as a starter

The Rollercoaster tour at Brixton in April ‘92. Jesus and Mary Chain/My Bloody Valentine/Dinosaur Jr/Blur

A lot of Ride gigs could make the list, but in particular their original ‘Nowhere’ tour back in the early 90’s, saw a number of those shows. And their Nowhere reunion tour in 2015

Others that have put in very notable performances include
Levellers
Iron Maiden
Metallica
Alice Cooper
Lush
Swervedriver

Can‘t actually think of many concerts where I went home thinking, meh.

Love your list John, although I have the view that 'you never go back and see your aged heros you'll only be disappointed, I'd love to have seen the JB/JT concerts recently though.

They come across on YouTube as being memorable.
James Taylor is touring the UK in October, but I don't see that Jackson will be with him.
I took this photo at the May 1 concert, really lucky shot, just kept snapping away and this came up.

James and Jackson 071.jpg

Neil Young and Pearl Jam at smallconcert at Roskilde during the 90s.
But there have been so many during the last 60 years.
Standouts during the 70s, Pink Floyd, Bowie, Marley.

Depends whether you are just after well known headliner events or concerts. I have been to some great smaller events where regardless of who is playing, lying on the grass with with can of cider in hand and the sun shining its just the best relaxation ever .

Rolling Stones :Licked Live in NYC,
Tonight ,BBC2 11PM.Only on for an hour.
Shows Jan 2003 gig at MSC.
