Non Hamworthy United

It is with profound regret that the club have written to the Southern League to inform them of our intention to withdraw from the league with immediate effect.
The Management and players have been informed.
This decision has not been taken lightly. However, with the ongoing financial burden of being unable to play at our home ground together with the general costs of keeping a team in the Southern League, the financial position of the club has become untenable. In the best interests of the club we need to “re-boot” and concentrate on our Dorset Premier League team and the business. If this decision was not taken now, in a very short space of time there would no longer be a Hamworthy United Football Club which is something we could not let happen.
Thank you to all the management team, players current and past, supporters and sponsors for helping us have a fantastic few years, the best the club has ever experienced.
The Chairman and Board
Hamworthy United Football Club

Very sad

Nice gesture by Wimborne
All of us at Wimborne Town are saddened to hear the news of our local rivals Hamworthy United’s situation. Which has seen the decision made to leave the Southern League to secure their long term future.

Jimmy Glass (General Manager at Wimborne Town) commented,“The statement regarding Hamworthy is one that no Chairman wants to be in the position to make, especially with the recent success their club has achieved. We hope that Steve Mitchener and the Hamworthy board can quickly work to secure the future, to ensure that Hamworthy United come together to remain in existence. As local clubs and rivalries are important to Non-League football in our local community. We know that their fans will be disappointed by the news and asking questions about various issues. At Wimborne Town we would like to offer any Season Ticket Holder of Hamworthy United the option of swapping out their Season Ticket with us at tomorrow’s home game instead of approaching Hamworthy for any refunds.”

In light of this news, we would like to offer any Hamworthy Season Ticket holder the opportunity to continue watching Southern League football this season. So at our home game tomorrow, any 23/24 Hamworthy Season Ticket holder, will be able to swap their season ticket for a season ticket with us for no cost. If you are a Hamworthy United Season Ticket Holder, please come to our ticket office tomorrow.

Isn't that fan-grabbing?

All of us at Southampton are saddened to hear the news of our local not-really rivals AFC Bournemouth's situation. Which has seen the decision made to leave the Premier League to secure their long term future.

“The statement regarding AFCB is one that no Chairman wants to be in the position to make (snigger), especially with the recent success their club has achieved. We hope that Neil Blake and the AFCB board can quickly work to secure the future, to ensure that AFCB come together to remain in existence. As local clubs and not-real rivalries are important to Premier League football in our local community. We know that their fans will be disappointed by the news and asking questions about various issues.
