Initial thoughts were seems a bit odd, but guess if we have Neto, with Darlow and Randolph as backups, means we can more comfortably loan out Travers without much concern of having to bring him back.
Perhaps teams that want him on loan, don;t want possibility of us taking him back halfway through the season.

Travers will be off this season, he’s said he doesn’t want to sit on the bench, I’d prefer it’s a loan but means the Darlow link probably isn’t too far off the mark.

Don’t understand this at all. Randolph for cups and benches, Neto for league games. Travers a top level loan, YA player as third choice. Why do we need to spend £5 million on a player like this? He’s a decent enough keeper but just seems one of the only areas we didn’t need to look at at all.

Perhaps we have someone lined up to buy Travers. Would make sense if he is set on moving to have more chance of first team football.
Travers needs and deserves to play somewhere as a number 1 . Sadly he's a bit like a Woodman , a quality top end championship keeper , not quite sure hea a premier league keeper .
Love him though so hope he proves me wrong .. Super Mark Travers in goal !.

That has been my thinking too. How often do you see clubs saying a player can go once we have signed a replacement. May well have a club in for him.

We want strong competition for Neto and strong cover if Neto gets injured. Not sure Travers is that at the moment.

If signing Darlow means Travers gets a solid season of first choice football on loan - I'm well up for that.
Whether it's worth spending 5m to get to that position, is debatable.
If this means we lose Travers to a permanent move I'd be disappointed.
