Non-Knob throwing cancelled for 2018

The traditional Dorset knob throwing competition has been cancelled for 2018 but should be back at Kingston Maurward for 2019.

For the uninitiated a Dorset knob is a traditional large biscuit having been baked by Moore's of Morecambelake for 150 years.

Disappointing - I was thinking of taking that in on a future visit to Poole, its on the route. Nothing like throwing your knob into a field of daisies ; needs a good grip to get line and length! Imagine Boris Johnson - I say old chap, that's my knob, jolly well play fair and chuck your own you bounder!

Do they have the event that tests the accuracy of the throw? Where you chuck at some receptacles or are toss pots not deriguour anymore : )
