So it looks like this will finally be forced through. Just hope the limit is a sensible figure. We need our young players to develop, and they can only do that playing competitive football. Will there be a lower limit, as the younger youth players often have spells with the Poppies, the Terras, Magpies and the like

Whilst it should help prevent bigger clubs from stockpiling talent with no intent to play them, I would expect a huge increase in the amount of buy back clauses that get inserted into contracts. They stockpile the players because 'just in case' and a buy back clause extends that 'what if' window a lot further

The big clubs will just copy the Watford model and buy up other clubs overseas and move players between their network at will.

I see it having zero impact on the big six.

I'm not sure what the answer is to stop that. Preventing too close ties between clubs may be something that could work but I doubt there's an appetite for it from those in charge.
