Non - Pandemic

My wife does volunteer work for a domestic animal rescue charity. She just got off her monthly call, and reported that they are seeing high numbers of adoptions and fosters. Speculation is that people who had wanted to do this, but felt that they may not be able to socialize the new family member with work and other commitments, now have the time and so are jumping in. All the customary verification of the adopter is taking place, so the society is confident that these will be permanent homes (i.e. not something that will reverse after the crisis passes).

A little good news ............ :)
 
Other good news for those who live in South West England, we are bottom of the infection charts that were shown in today's press conference and have consistently had low infection and death rates despite being the oldest on average. This means that lockdown for our region was arguably early in comparison to many other places.

The positioning of hospitals must have a bearing. Numbers are rising in Cambridgeshire but a huge proportion of those cases are in Addenbrookes.
 
Ol Trump is well out of his comfort zone with this stuff...making it up as he goes...
..surely only a matter of time before his party hierarchy start to go cold on him...surely ?
 
At this stage, Joe Biden the Democratic front runner, has become the invisible man. Trump will be re-elected or not on the success/failure of the strategy. Mitigate the number of deaths and get the economy back up-and-running ......... nobody will remember the missteps.

On one hand, he says MAGA and closes the borders, he is racist and nationalist. On the other hand, he offers aid to an ailing ally, and he is (not sure what the criticism is). With his massive ego, he sees himself as the man who saves the world. And if he gets a result, he will win in a landslide.
