Non Season’s surprise packet.

The half time stats showed that Fulham had more possession but Coventry still had a lot of touches in the opponents box, about 3 -4 times more. However Fulham looked organised and defended very well. Second half though Fulham gifted goals alarmingly. Not quite sure why Fulham imploded so badly. Wasn’t just due to Coventry’s energetic play.

Days like this that you ask where Harry Wilson went when Fulham needed him!

At home they are top of that table:

P 6, W 6, Goals 14, Conceded 3

But away they have P 5, W 1, D 1, L 3, Goals 2, Conceded 9.

If you take a look at their message boards their supporters are asking the same question about Wilson. Most reckon that he hasn't come back since the international break.

Wilson is a classy player, who can dribble the ball. He has a great long-range shot on him, especially from set piece plays. He scored a few crackers for us.

But so very often he goes missing-in-action and you wonder how he manages to remain on the pitch and avoid absolutely all the action. In short, unless available on the cheap and at reasonable wages, a luxury signing.

While being nowhere near the disaster that Ibe proved to be, we have sloshed far too much cash in Liverpool's direction for players who would never get a run on their first team. The reported £12 million fee was about £12 million too much.*

I expect that I was not the only one who was relieved when we didn't sign him either before or after his stay at Cardiff.

It is Fulham's turn to feel mugged by whoever arranges the deals to get B-team players out of the door at Anfield.

*According to thisisanfield.com, Wlison was "the most expensive deal of the summer in the Championship – accounting for over 25 percent of fees paid."
