Non - Shard Type Building

Have no fear Jeff is multi tasking as chair of AFCB and the regeneration project whoops fund.

I wonder just how enthusiastic Tobias would be if it was mooted as being built on his doorstep?

I don't understand this point. People of Boscombe wouldn't want investment on their doorstep? It's a big residential/commercial building not a nuclear power station.

Are we sure this wasn't a typo and what they actually meant was :

"a shed type building" ?

Would seem to be more in line with the funds available !
:p

Back in the 60's 70's Boscombe was a great place to visit.
The ballrooms was a great place to go and see a band.
Nice beach, Fishermans walk was our favourite, 1625053360818.png
nice hotels where you could get a pint and pick up a bit of Northern crumpet.

I live in Poole and tbh never go to Bournemouth or Boscombe except for work and football. Very very rarely go there for shopping or socialising. Seaside towns on the whole struggle and there are many examples of those that chose the wrong route to go down. Arcades, funfairs, cheap accommodation etc. Poole to me has always been the ' working class' brother of Bournemouth and is also becoming less and less attractive as more and more councillors meddle and make poor decisions. The whole BCP council thing isn't going to do Poole any favours either. Ridiculous road plans, road closures, route changes, house building policies, increased Council tax , less service, increased crime and anti social behaviour. Probably a sign of the times but there's a reason for it. I'm going to guess the only thing that has been cut back are the pension pots.

Agree that there are risks to BCP but there is no magic wand where places just get better on their own.

Less than 9 years from now we will be in electric cars and the world will have changed. It's arguable that the biggest challenge is the right thing to do is ignore the short-term demands of an aged electorate and make radical decisions for people who have yet to become engaged in what will matter.

For me close more roads, develop more fast transit systems, have a plan to consolidate the industrial and office space served by that transit and free up much needed space for housing.

If we had a 25 year plan that everyone understood then we wouldn't get talk of a shard unless it fitted with the plan. Instead we run our towns more like badly run football clubs who can't see past the next game.
