Just seen that Spencer Davis has just passed away - creator of some of the most fantastic Britpop records ever.

Still think the intro to Gimme Some Lovin' is one of the absolute best.

Without wishing to diminish Spencer Davis's contribution the sound on those records mentioned is basically down to Stevie Winwood. He's the vocalist, he plays the distorted organ intro on Gimme Some Lovin' and he plays the big guitar riff at the start of Keep On Running.
Spencer Davis is on Rhythm Guitar which is particularly effective on Keep On Running.
