anyone else getting proper pished off to see it being copied and going mainstream already?

i'm going to wish i was somewhere else if our fans steal it and try and do our own version at dc, like seemingly every other feckin country has since iceland introduced it to the world at the euros
 
i love it - when the iceland team did it with their fans it was unbelievable

but it's theirs (ok historically motherwell's before i get corrected)

for me it's like the haka belonging to the kiwis, no one else imitates it
 
I'd heard it has Nordic origins from the 8th century...!?!??!?!

...and yes... Just had this conversation myself. I find it cringeworthy to see other nations taking it on... get your own bloody chant...

I just hope it doesn't catch on at DC...
 
One clapping chant is enough for us....the Clap, clap clap clap, Clap, clap clap clap, we do at corners works well enough thanks
 
Very strange to hear what upsets people on here these days.
Some of the posts when we lost to Spurs, Arsenal and a few others were quite odd as well.

i'm not physically upset like crying or wanting to punch a wall borisatha

it just annoys me - an observation

if nothing annoys you ever then you're a better man (person) than me
 
Things that annoy me.
1. People who moan for the sake of moaning.
2. Presidents of urbanations in Spain.
3. Al Gard. :grin:
4. People who voted in a democratic vote but don't like the result and want it overturned.
5. Warm beer.
6. Catching the Icelandic clap.
 
Pretty embarrassing for other countries like France to adopt it like they did after the last game.
 
Iceland fans are best chanting it, those that copied were really complementing the Iceland fans by keeping it going.

That chant was one of the most memorable things from this tournament.
 
Just as the voovoozela was left at the World Cup in 2010, so too the Icelandic clap should be left at the Euros 2016.

I wonder what creative expressions await in Russia...

That just shows you how poor the whole tournament was.
 
Breaks me how it's now known as the Icelandic clap when this chant and different variations have been around for a very long time
