Patrick Vieira GONE!.

Just shows you’re never more than a dozen games away from the sack. Even when the club employ you for a so-called longer term project, changing the style of play to be more attractive etc.

Feels like they will be ok and this feels like knee jerk or maybe some internal disagreement? I would take viera , Bahamas hunk he’s decent

Currently in their hardest cumulative part of the season according to alt3* so should expect to be near their lowest ebb in the season

Of course when the new manager comes he will get the easy run to the end of the season and everything will seem vindicated. Seems foolish and wonder who they could get to improve on him.

* I know I'm obsessed!
From those close to Palace on sky sports news, they all appear to think it’s the right decision. He’s fallen out with various people, he’s refusing to play his better players due to personal gripes with them. It appears to be one of those situations he can’t recover from.

Ah okay, I'm just reading stuff like your post above "not getting enough from squad", "only won 1 in x" and "squad look disinterested". The usual guff when an otherwise successful season hits a rough patch.

I think they play all of the other teams in the bottom 9 in their run in. Be very surprised if they did drop.

Stll I suppose theres about a hundered ex-Watford managers on the market for them to choose from.

Bit harsh to sack him immediately prior to their trip to the Emirates, unless they have someone lined up to start today or tomorrow.

Vieira’s trials and tribulations at Nice

Their mere presence in Europe was based somewhat on chance. They finished fifth in Ligue 1 based on points-per-game as the Covid-19 crisis struck midway through the season. Seven sides were within touching distance of them.

Lyon argued that the system was unfair as they had played runaway champions PSG twice but Nice had faced them only once. They had a point.

Luck in situations such as this has favoured Vieira as a coach throughout his stint in Nice, often providing a gloss to what has been a rather disappointing spell.

He inherited a team that was known for its exciting attacking football. They soon became boring and monotonous, enjoying extended periods of penetration but without any kind of framework for the team to excel.

After Nice he was on our radar.
