Peterborough United v AFC Bournemouth

A game lacking quality from both teams. Littered with wayward passes, clumsy (but not malicious) challenges, poor control, misread runs and so on. The kind of game where a manager like Neil Warnock will point and say 'See, that's why you play the longball % game".

Scrappy, and not in a good way.

Their playing about at the back looks like an opportunity as it isn't sharp. Keep that high press on and something may drop for us.

Aside from that, we need better interlinking and partnerships. Apart from one glorious move, the Stacey/Brooks partnership hasn't been good. Understandably, you can say the Zemura has looked better with Anthony.

Also, the switch move is only going to work if we play it early and with pace. Playing it late and floating the ball just means they've shifted across by the time we have the ball under control.

Lots of room for improvement in the second half.

Positive: Cahill has looked solid.

Room to improve: Christie and Rogers (although it is his first start of the season)

Just a stat....
However no first-half goal in their last three Championship road trips also shows Bournemouth take their time to get going.

Poor. Passing incredibly wayward in the final third and attacks breaking down left right and centre. Brooks seems to coast through games these days doing very little other than giving the ball away. We miss Pearson from a defensive point of view, massive gaps in the middle, Jeff works hard but doesn’t have the same positional awareness. Rogers looks interesting when he can get on the ball, Cahill solid as ever. We need to get Christie on the ball more.

Bit of a weird half. Looked to be getting on top more towards the end.

Hopefully they'll tire and we can start opening them up.
