New Forest Cherry

Star Player

training ground bust up
manager close to getting the chop

:hihi:

....what they need is a steady and committed manager who can bring the best out of players and punch above his weight....NO ignore that!!!

I hope Puel has done just enough for them to keep his job. They won't get back up the league with him in charge, as they'll never score enough goals to win enough games. But I don't think they'll struggle too much either, it'll be perennial mediocrity boring the pants off everyone as long as he's in charge. Which makes our style down the road all the more attractive.

I thought they've been pretty entertaining at times this season tbh, and if not have been at least pretty organised. A mid-table finish and a cup final (that they should have won) - I think that's not bad going.

agreed, so why do their better players always want to leave?

Playing with better players and more ££££££s.

According to Daily Express list of wage bills for each club this season, Saints wage bill is £63.6 million and that just above 7 clubs will bills lower.

Man C are highest at £225 million.

Money talks, sadly

As much as I dislike them, I can't bring myself to laugh at the constant departure of talent from the place.
We are a smaller and less established club than them and I fear that we will suffer a similar fate.
Fortunately we have a manager who looks unlikely to jump ship in search of more money (well not just yet). But the lure of an outrageous pay packet and the kudos of playing for a top six club will easily sway the minds of those who rise to the top at Dean Court.

With each passing year in Prem and less reliance on our L1 core, we will become like saints in losing our stars. So gloating seems premature. Real risk of a widening gap between player and fan too. Retaining Eddie to keep it all together remains key

Eddie is indeed key. Part of the reason we have a squad that plays with purpose is that he's worked hard on explaining the club's history to the players and that punching above our weight is a point of pride. And, at the risk of sounding snobby, Bournemouth is just a more attractive place to live than Southampton. If you avoid the apocalyptic hellscape of Old Christchurch Rd on the weekends, we've got some of the most scenic coastline in the country.

<p><strong>Scenery ? To be fair the Itchen is quite nice until it passes through Southampton&nbsp; :hihi: </strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><img src="http://www.indymedia.ie/cache/imagecache/local/attachments/nov2009/460_0___30_0_0_0_0_0_img_0285_nairobi_river_running_through_mathare_c_paula_geraghty.jpg" width="460" height="307" border="0" />&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

Their youth team has been relegated out of the top Cat1 PL1 division into PL2, the lower of the two Cat1 youth divisions.

That must be like the "ravens leaving the Tower of London" type of moment given the quality of their set up.
