Train strike

Apologies if it’s been mentioned on another thread but can’t see one. Looks like Chelsea away may be affected by the new dates of 24th to 27th.

We can only hope that because SWT have no services on the 25th and 26th that there wont be a knock on effect onto 27th.

What does Mick rhyme with?

The evening news last night were warning about Christmas train travel being impacted either side, which may not be accurate if RMT are correct. What chance have the public got of being able to plan anything if BBC/ITV news isn't sure.

Mick Lynch on the radio basically saying that the trains are all fucked in that period anyway so this won't make any difference.

More sensationalist nonsense to appease the masses. We've known for years that engineering work always takes place over the Christmas period.

The government and train companies are so cynical in their tactics. Imposing massively altered conditions on train companies using timescales which back the workers into a corner so they either accept or strike during deeply unpopular times. Then go overdrive on press releases that seek to blame all of the misery that strikes cause on the workers as if none of it is the employers fault.

And the cynicism doesn't stop there...

Ferrari on LBC this morning running with the narrative...

"All the hardworking NHS workers who need a break with their families having Christmas ruined by the rail union"

While last week running with..

"How dare nurses strike, the poor patients who will suffer"

Meanwhile, interviewing a Tory MP this morning and the conversation went along the lines..

NF: Asks a good question that we are interested to hear the answer to..

MP: I think what is important here is that....I talk about a completely different subject.

NF makes no attempt to get them to actually answer any of his questions.

:arrghh:

Pay the Rail Workers more from the huge Profits.
Keep them happy on the Health and Safety front...which means not trimming staff and consequently heaping the responsibility for tasks onto others remaining.

Then of course all that means higher prices for the customer.
...where the f√ck they can squeeze up any Compromise.. is the big guessing point !

Maybe in the future folk will just not travel so much...life will be again confined to regions and tribes !
Kind of makes a sense.... I wonder how far forward can technology, 'growth' and progress take humanity ?

We ain't gonna get much Joy from the likes of Putin , Biden, Xi lad ...or Kimbobs !

Probably need to lynch them before we lynch the boy Lynch !

Reflections.

Just checked on nationalrail's journey planner and at this moment in time there appears to be a full service between Bournemouth and Waterloo and back all day on 27th. I guess it's a case of watch this space!

The Government always find money when they need to. Probably not in this case as it affects normal working people, not their mates.

Cabinet meeting today, so still hopeful that they can call the strikes off.

Yep. Earning every penny of that 6 figure salary. What percentage of the workers, union subs goes directly to Mick?
