Structadene

A question, our anger about the delay on the new ground. Why is Structadene immune from any criticism?

And I wondered if a fan organised protest could bring them to the negotiating table.

Maybe before the Fulham game (as they are London based) : http://www.structadene.co.uk/contact.asp

So what will your gripe be against Structadene? From a commercial point of view I don't see that they've don't anything wrong? Do you want them to donate the ground to AFCB??

The club wont be going public with any discussions in my opinion, especially if it was a possibility all along?
I dont think Structadene are doing anything wrong.
Buying back DC could be the only legacy of our PL journey, would be better than nothing, any bmth fan of more than 6 years can understand that.
Look at spurs to see massive overspend of £100’s of millions, some business plans can cope with that, ours never could. Cant even spend a few million we dont have.

Want answers, ask Jeff.
Want millions and millions find a new benefactor, Saudi’s, Qatari’s..... accept facts we are a small club, the brand will always be small. Big money wants proven success, not hopes and dreams.

no, stay with who has got us this far.

A cup final, a place in Europe thats whats needed to really move the brand on, its not so stupid to believe that it could happen with Eddie.

Disappointing for many who wouldnt see it but what a way to force the issue and make it so

...you could say that they saved our club from extinction?

no one in their wildest dreams could imagine that we would be where we are today?

If they want a good return for their investment then you can't expect anything less.

I do think that our ONLY real chance is that a mega billionaire like a Saudi or Chinese buyer buys us to move us into the big league off the pitch.

I am not sure that that would sit well with many of our hardcore fans who still wish to be close to the club itself and not see it as a commodity with no real heart and soul?

Dean Court may never be developed as the complications of where it is and the restrictions on access etc. will always be an issue.

As I have said before we should all be enjoying the ride and soaking it all in while we probably can, the legacy will be the memories alone possibly??

Just over 21 years ago, from then to where we are now.

Been a bumpy ride but this club and its supporters had a ‘Never Say Die’ attitude and look where we are today.

No we haven’t got our own stadium yet, but we are seeing entertaining football week in week out, in one of biggest leagues in the world and our club is in it.

This isn’t anything we expected, only to dream about, enjoy.

What a sad post.

Simply because it has nothing to do with them.

I’m sure if we offered a realistic and acceptable sum, Structadene would agree to sell back to us.

The problem is reaching a figure acceptable to both parties. My thoughts are that we have not been very generous with our offers and not unnaturallly, Structadene's opening offer is over- high, which is why both parties appear to be so far apart.

But the longer we delay reaching an agreement, the selling price increases. Had we bought back the ground when we first got promoted, then it would seem as a bargain now.

Flog Ake for £40M for a £20M profit.
Add to it the "Ahem" £15M profit last year...there you go £35M in the kitty to buy it back.

Do you know what? I ceased to be bothered about off-pitch matters when my CherryShares were deemed worthless by the vote to sell the stadium. I care and read all these posts, but what is my opinion worth?

We know that SD aren't being 'reasonable' but then at the same time they have an asset and no obligation to sell. If you want my watch then even if it's only worth a tenner there's nothing to stop me asking a million for it. Now if the council decided that the redevelopment of Dean Court at Kings Park was a priority and was damaging other bodies in the town (hotels, bars, athletics club) then they could request a CPO which might well speed things along somewhat

"the legacy will be the memories alone possibly??"

It will be very sad if that turns out to be the case.
...of course it will be sad, but let's not be deluding ourselves that we can really compete in the The PL off the pitch, because it is becoming clear that we can't in terms of infrastructure and development for whatever is the reasoning of our owner(s)

.......... sack the board.

Why?

Remember where we have come from? - Bottom of League 2, and staring oblivion in the face to 6th in the Premier League - thanks in part to the investment of the current board.
How many times over the years did we wait, hoping for a "white knight" to come along and save us.
One finally did.

But now that isn't good enough for some

Some of you want jam on everything

Let's be honest buying the ground back from Structadene would be an expensive sticking plaster if we stay in the premier league. How long before we outgrow it again ? Championship maybe , leagues 1 & 2 fine. The problem is that we would have no off pitch income outside of the premier league. We are not going to be able to build much more around Dean Court.

That is true but at least we would own the existing ground and not be pissing rent up against the wall. While we are in the PL £4m a year or whatever it is doesn't much matter, If/ when we go down it will.

I tend to agree with Ian in the OP though. Structadene have had their money back and several times more by now. Perhaps we could use those advertising hoardings to run a continuous "Structadene are c*%@s" next time we are on Sky?
