I just can’t see how people expect the likes of Begovic, Boruc to ‘improve’ under us. Both vastly experienced keepers who have played with higher teams than us. They aren’t going to come here and improve, they may maintain.
 
....we just need a win to lift confidence up a bit...2-0 flatters them but hopefully we can make things right next week...It is defending that we need to improve from midfield to the back four...and Moss needs to work on Bego to command his area better he is a big lad but doesn’t use his height to meet crosses

Goalkeepers peak later. I think it’s fair to think he may have improved at the age he joined us playing regular football.

But that was someone else’s point.

Mine was just that he was poor today.
 
Very unlucky to get anything. God knows how Gomes stayed on the pitch.

Proves that we have a massive task in replacing Wilson regardless of what price we let him go for. We've really struggled to create chances without him this season.
 
Really poor performance we could have played all week and we wouldn't have scored. Everton were crap as well which makes it a harder pill to swallow. Forget top 10 this season.
 
A decent first half but without a striker we were always going to be in trouble if Everton scored first. That was a dreadful Everton team who employed some pretty heavy handed tactics but they were still able to beat us fairly comfortably in the end. Have to agree with others that mousset and ibe just aren't options that improve the team during a match. King cannot play as a striker and is way off his best form, Stanislas is frustratingly inconsistent and the decision to play Smith out of position in front of Daniels and Rico shows Eddie's confidence in both of those players at the moment. We are off colour at the moment and Eddie needs to win a few players over and show them some faith
 
It's still there, you can see it. Just need to catch a break now. I still don't have any worries as it will come.

Everton can count themselves very, very fortunate today. How their fans were moaning at the ref is beyond me, they should be sending him Christmas cards for the rest of his life for letting them finish that with eleven men.
 
That was a shame. Looked good for much of the game. This ref doesn't do red cards. None for 23 games. We have had some refs who book for a first foul. I thought Everton got away with a lot today.

Like others on here, I am fairly relaxed about points. 9 points off bottom 3 mid January. Would have snatched your hand off at the start of the season for that.

Was it me or did Ake have some strange moments?
