David Brooks

EH said that Solanke wasn’t fully match fit so expect to see him on the bench. Would think that either Ibe will start as a winger with Joshua up top on his own as he was on Wednesday or maybe Mousset alongside King with Stan filling in wide if he decides to start with 2 strikers.
If Ibe starts I’d rather see him behind King where we’re less reliant on him from a defensive point of view as a winger.

If Brooks wasn't injured before the game he most likely would be during it. Warnock will have told his players to target him I'm sure ( cynic that I am). I'd like to see what Ibe could do as a 10 in this game, with Stanislas and Fraser providing the width. Maybe Clyne's presence in the team will provide Ibe with a boost...they did combine will against Chelsea.
Indeed , and great delivery from Ibe for the fourth goal ..
Clyne’s pass for the Brooks goal to - class all round
Think we should go with King up front on his own with Ibe or Stan in behind ..
Go get ‘em lads !

Yet another extremely poor article in the Echo. The headline says he’s out for a spell on the sidelines, but the article finishes with Eddie saying the physios are not too concerned.

The Echo Article :-
CHERRIES star David Brooks faces a spell on the sidelines.

The Welsh international will be out for a month after sustaining an ankle problem in Wednesday’s win over Chelsea.

Responding to questions from the Daily Echo yesterday, Cherries boss Eddie Howe said: “It was a strange one because David scored the goal and then felt something in his ankle.

“We’re not sure what that is.

“I don’t think the physio team and the doctors were too concerned after the game so it’s a case of let’s see how he presents today.”

Hmm. Thats very odd. Wouldn't be surprised if he plays today or out for the season from that!

That's a bit of a blow and a price to pay for doing Chelexit 2( invoking Article 4) but we appear to have a good team spirit back since Smithy returned and Clyne joined us...a suitable game to get Solanke and maybe Surridge or one of the other young guns involved ?....Brooksy has set the bar and surely has the other young players chomping at the bit seeing his confidence in stealing Hazards turf .
I've seen Surridge play a couple of times at Exeter and Plymouth when he was at Yeovil....impressed with his skill and application....he must have come on a bit since then!
We can forget the bottom 3 now..whatever today's result... and the Top 7 might be a tall order with some more injuries stacking up! We must still go for it if course as the whole squad will be up for it after Wednesday!
What I would like above all is for Ibe to have a Riot of a game down the middle , get a brace..and kick on from there...this season or never I reckon!

Ibe has to play 10. Not right wing. He is very dangerous loose because he can take a man out so easily. My worry is when he came on he played on wing and Stan moved to ten. Hopefully that was because Ibe had fresher legs and not because of tactics. Be also nice to see the Mousse behind King but doubtful.

What’s good about the 4-2-3-1 formation, especially with the players we have, is that they can be quite fluid within the formation. Fraser, Ibe and Stanislas are all wingers with the traits to be No10s, so they can swap positions throughout the game and cause havoc.
