Just got my other 3 tickets, the guy at the ticket office said he didn't think we'd be getting a further allocation.
There were loads of empty seats at Brighton near me, was it not sold out?
It was sold out. Likely a case of people not standing in their allocated space and going somewhere else. There were loads of empty seats at Brighton near me, was it not sold out?

Plenty of that going on
How about . . .
Our fellow fans realise (just on THIS occasion) that to stand is to deny a lot of people the entertainment, and the opportunity to see and support their beloved team, that they have paid for.

There should be clear areas where standing is not allowed to accommodate those who wish to sit.

They are trying to do something about it at some grounds - the following from the AFCB ticket information for the Palace game. So the option was there to buy "sitting only" seats for this game:
Zero Tolerance on Standing
Crystal Palace recognise that standing in the away end at grounds is fairly common. Therefore the front 5 rows of away supporter allocation is to be sold to supporters who would prefer to sit. Crystal Palace will be operating a Zero tolerance on standing in these rows.

All persistent standers should be thrown out and banned.
