Palace tickets - latest

Just got my other 3 tickets, the guy at the ticket office said he didn't think we'd be getting a further allocation.

Yes but who wants to sit with the home supporters? Can't enjoy a win. An oasis of misery if we lose. There are no good seats at Palace just some which are even worse than others. You don't go for the view.

How about . . .

Our fellow fans realise (just on THIS occasion) that to stand is to deny a lot of people the entertainment, and the opportunity to see and support their beloved team, that they have paid for.

Let the campaign begin here.

There should be clear areas where standing is not allowed to accommodate those who wish to sit. We have to be considerate to those who cannot, for whatever reason, stand for 90 minutes. The problem with this is that de facto it declares that standing is allowed in other areas.

When we last played at Sunderland, a number of us moved to allow a group who wished to sit a view of the match. This is not always possible if there are no vacant seats to move to and voluntary schemes don't work as some standers only regard the sitters as killjoys.

I am a confirmed stander and will do everything not to sit down, including ignoring instructions on tickets, warning signs and stewards, but I will not do so at the expense of my fellow supporters.

When did I miss the change in the law that allows standing anywhere ?
This is a nice old chestnut and I welcome any attempt to voluntarily police it to accommodate a good match experience for everybody. Unfortunately human nature doesn’t work like that and there are always those who think their ‘rights ‘ cap everyone else’s. I can no longer take the gamble that the seat I’m allocated will allow me to watch the game unhindered. I’ve accepted this now so follow on streams when they work but it doesn’t make it right.

I prefer to stand and always try to choose my ticket in an area where I think everyone will be standing. I will try and avoid being anywhere near the front. Unfortunately some people are complete dickheads and don't mind ruining the view of others who cannot stand or young kids who even if they stood wouldn't be able to see. Generally stewards shrug their shoulders but at some grounds they do try and move people to areas where they can sit and see the game.
I don't know what the answer is though apart from draconian no standing enforcement of rules. Well actually I do know the answer - safe standing areas

They are trying to do something about it at some grounds - the following from the AFCB ticket information for the Palace game. So the option was there to buy "sitting only" seats for this game:

Zero Tolerance on Standing

Crystal Palace recognise that standing in the away end at grounds is fairly common. Therefore the front 5 rows of away supporter allocation is to be sold to supporters who would prefer to sit. Crystal Palace will be operating a Zero tolerance on standing in these rows.

Think the palace stance is sensible. A lot of people want to sit due to age/health reasons and shame they can’t.
