Qatar World Cup

screw all of that, if it was scrapped everything would be put right in good time?

Exactly. It's 3 1/2 years away as it stands.

Bring it back to June 22, and a trio of countries could host it comfortably if it was awarded tomorrow.

England/France/Germany.

Hell, why not England/Scotland together. Hampden, Celtic Park, and Ibrox could be used north of the border.
And the Jocks would qualify for once.

agree some organisations in Sport are just too big and untouchable to really change their ways, what with some many people getting their snouts in the hoeny pot!

We need a united and disciplined stand by not supporting these events and not buying tickets, boycotting sponsors and TV subscriptions...however I doubt that we can ever garner that much commitment?

Are players Seriously going to get on a plane....knowing the alleged Slave Wages, and Corruption and Death involved in this project!
Ive been to that part of the World...how the hell can players train and perform at their best in that heat.. even in the evenings!
Its all about Oil and Natural Gas Reserves I guess !

The heat shouldn’t be a problem as they’ve moved it to winter where temperatures are about 24c. Given how much players enjoy going to that part of the world for “training camps”, I doubt they’ll be too bothered about the ethics of slave labour and corruption.

I’m not sure how Qatar will cope with thousands of football fans. Will they relax the alcohol ban. Given what they lock you up for in the UAE, I dread to think to how the more conservative Qatar will cope

Consuming alcohol in public is punished with 40 lashes, but officials have indicated a willingness to allow alcohol in "fan zones".
They don't like homosexuality either, it is punished by the death penalty, Men wearing shorts in public is not allowed either.

Read the stories publishished about the UAE with a pinch of salt. Almost all of them are false, like the women recently who was refused entry at the border 'for being drunk' but it was actually because she didn't have adequate time remaining on her passport.
