Everton - The Verdict

Marco Silva is without doubt the most miserable looking manager i've ever seen.....talk about inspiring your team.....he looked like he wanted to end it all as soon as we scored the 2nd.

Rico had a good game imo; he made several good blocks and interceptions (including a fantastic acrobatic one denying a certain goal), great set piece delivery, bagged an assist, a couple loose moments on the ball but otherwise he was pretty damn good. And if you hadn’t noticed, his “poor positioning” seems a tactical choice from EH, our LBs always seem to be either high up the pitch or tucked in more centrally: Daniels constantly does the same thing.

Sorry, but I’m not having comments on here that he had a terrible game. The fact that EH took off him right at the end for some applause surely proves that he had a good game??

We look so much better with 4 at the back. Ake was immense, S. Cook looked slow and seems injured still? Stacey, for his first premiere league start, played well. Ramsdale was awesome, very quick off his line and might have actually saved us the game at times.

H. Wilson anonymous again, fantastic to see L. Cook back, really missed his driving performances and range of passing. Billing much more than a midfield destroyer. King looked mostly back to his best, Wilson back to being clinical, and Solanke was a great foil for them both.

All in all, a great result against a team in good form. We played a formation that mostly got the best out of a lot of our players (in both defence and attack) and that also gave us a much stronger bench, with the likes of Fraser and Lerma able to come on. And for once, can’t disagree with any of EHs choices and decisions. UTC :utc:

We clicked today. Inspired by Lewis Cook we had a midfield with steel, industry and craft. Lovely finish from Callum and so good to see him smiling. Credit to jack Stacey on his PL debut, a couple of minor errors but given the chance that lad will be special. Wee man made a huge impact when he came on just when seemed Everton were taking a hold. Perfect lift for Friday. We'll done lads

Absolutely agree about Rico - just before he came off, he landed slightly funny and stayed down for thirty seconds,,,,I had assumed he was taken off due to that....but nice for him to get recognition from most of the fans [ apart from one muppet on here who thought he was poor.... :shake::shake: ]

What a boost it is to have Lewis Cook back. At his best he gives us an extra edge and he's got an easy-on-the-eye playing style with it. It's not going to be easy to pick the midfield moving forward.

Rico was a mixed bag - I think those saying he was outstanding are stretching it a bit but he wasn't poor either. He definitely keeps his place for me though. He's improving and that's all you can ask. Tough baptism for Stacey.

Stacey looked nervous, and it's a much faster game than in div one,he did alright in patches but was caught out a few times
