Liverpool v AFC Bournemouth

Well BT haven’t shown it so I’d guess he’s off? Otherwise they could have made a talking point of it rather than Liverpool’s defensive high line .
God I hope he's off!...... otherwise it's as bad a miss as I've ever seen..... shocking.

Once again, moments of hope and despair.

* The boys came out flying, Wee Man and Callum working hard, Stan fitting in well and L. Cook managing his touches nicely. Again, a chance to go up 0-2 missed, but it felt promising.
* Injury to S. Cook was the turning point, back four looked very composed until then.
* Not for the first time, Eddie confounds with his substitutions. If not Rico, then a back three, but throwing Simpson into that mix ???????? Solanke also ......... why not give Surridge a run? Replacing Lerma was a solid decision, avoids the dreaded yellow. We will need him next weekend.
* Not sure why Smithy doesn't seem to be a factor in the offense.
* Yes, Harry W. in his LFC jacket?? Commentator speculates that it was colder than Harry expected. :shake:

And for some unknown reason to me, @Topfarrier objects to the use of the term "on the road". I have learned about "misspeaking" terms like "premiership" and "goal differential", do I now have something to add to my lexicon?

Let's see everyone else drop points and on to next weekend.

Totally agree with Paul Frank ,Why Solanke? Stanislas was causing Liverpool trouble ,and on comes the non goal scoring £19 m player who takes Billing out.Baffling substitution and Why doesn’t Surridge ever get a chance ,6ft bustling attacker good in defence and up front Baffling again from Eddie .

Not good news.

CHERRIES: Eddie Howe says hamstring injury to Steve Cook “looks a bad one, could be weeks”. Described as “match-turning moment” by EH. Francis not available today due to knee swelling, King hamstring strain. #afcb

This is something EH really needs to get his head around. It's no surprise that having to replace one of your most reliable central defenders with a player who only has around 10 professional league appearances is going to be match turning.

We've been thin on the ground for defenders for months, should have got a loaner in during the Jan window.

I just don't get why Simpson wasn't sent out on loan 2-3 seasons ago, particularly if the club felt he was close to PL level.

Eddie said all January that he was trying to get a loan player or two in, we have no idea who he might have tried for. Bear in mind also, that when fit, Steve Cook and Ake are generally the first choice centre backs. So he would need a loan who was better than one of those or who would be happy to be sub. Can't be too many of those available.

BT's coverage was awful
MacManamanman's delivery is as annoying as his completely one-sided and ignorant comments

Why have the sound on if it annoys you?

When the first game of ours at Palace was shown on Amazon, I watched the game without sound, as for some reason it buffered and the pic and sound were not in sync. It made no difference and in a way was better just have a pic and not the constant waffle they come out with.

would have had the solent commentary but the tv is usually a minute or so behind

could have been worse, robbie savage might have been doing the game in some capacity.....

small mercies

Completely agree. It was painful to listen to how far up Liverpool’s **************** the pundits were. Before the game Milner said something to his teammates like ‘This won’t be an easy game we have to be on it,’ and all the pundits were absolutely ejaculating about the ultimate outstanding professionalism of this super human group of a Liverpool heroes. Like they had expected him to say, ‘It’s only Bournemouth lads don’t bother breaking into a sweat we have a big game midweek.’ And when we scored the simple scouse guy basically just said, ‘no it won’t stand.’ And then even after the kick off had been taken he refused to acknowledge that we had scored a goal. It’s almost like they were offended that we had gone off script and refused to lay down and have our tummies tickled. But this is what it is like in this league unfortunately, everyone, the pundits, the referees, the television deal, they are all biased towards the big teams. It kind of ruins the league as a spectacle to be honest.

The NBC stream was much more balanced tbf...... couldn't listen to mcmananman anymore the I could listen to Alan Smith when we play Arsenal........Ray Houghton is the one that has me grinding my teeth though .... always image him as that Harry Enfield character that repeatedly says 'he didn't want to do that'.....:guns:

Watched the highlights on MOTD and we were the first game showed.

They thought Wilson’s goal was a shove on Gomez by Wilson in the build up, as did Klopp in interview.

Personally think we for once had the benefit of a VAR decision after having a number go against us recently.

It just shows our luck at the moment, after starting off well and taking the lead Steve Cook then goes off with an injury.

His replacement in young Simpson comes on and while still ‘cold’ gets caught and has the ball taken off him by Mane who then goes for goal to make it 1-1.

Then that man Salah scores his usual goal against us to make it 2-1.

We had two good chances of getting another goal when Ake had the ball and instead of taking on the keeper slipped the ball over to Wilson who was given offside.

The other and best chance of an equaliser, Fraser received the ball and lobbed the ball over the keeper and it looked as thought it was going to drop into the net, but just didn’t have enough pace behind it and Milner made a great clearance off the line.

Liverpool had another great chance from a shot from Mane which hit the far post with Ramsdale beaten.

Wilson was onside as he was behind the ball, it was Ake who was offside. Did they show it with lines as BT didn’t bother?

I just find all the BT pundits totally clueless. They have no idea how we play these days and make up what tactics we should use as they go along.

For example, we need to move away from our expansive style of play despite the fact we haven’t played that way in 2 seasons. Then when we attacked Liverpool they decided this was how we need to play in all our games

They're all the same ....bt.....sky....5live ....TS....it's always our expansive play or out transfer dealings..... despite the fact they can only name Ibe and Solanke...... Charlie Adam's really has a bee in his bonnet about Eddie..... really strange.
