Do we think this this was not going to Happen?

Jimmy 306

New Signing
After watching the team being broken up , with all the top players being transferred to premiership clubs. We will be left with a team that will nearer a league one side than a championship side. Max stated he wants the side to return to premiership soon as possible , this will not be in anyway possible without a mass influx of players able to compete at this level.
Tindall states that he will not stand in the way of any player who wishes to leave as long as the club get what they want. The club will have a bit of cash in the pot but which new players would like to be part of a team that will have little chance in the championship. Well that does not look like a team that wants to return to the premiership to me.

You've disgraced yourself at the end there.....Wellsworld will be livid!

I remember well our League One teams containing players like Stanislas, Kelly, Gosling and so on.

Players will be sold. Replacements will be brought in. That's football.

Two of them couldn’t get into our championship team..... just saying....

Another bedwetting.

So far we have lost

Our best ever player for a record fee.
A young keeper with one seasons Prem experience who let in 60 goals
A winger who was amongst our worst Premier League buys who hasn't found another club.
Another winger who got greedy and hasn't found a club yet.
A left back who didn't cost much and never played
A 35 year old right back club legend
A 32 year old sideways passing club legend
A 38 year old keeper

I don't see how that is the team being broken up.

Not only that but the players we bring in may be highly motivated, more so than those looking to jump ship, so overall they may end up being better for us. I think plenty of youngsters would see us as a big opportunity to make a name for themselves in the Championship and possibly go straight up with us into the PL.
A turnover of players is inevitable and not necessarily a bad thing. As long as we are getting decent value for the players we sell, there should be no shortage of potentially better and affordable replacements.

My thoughts precisely. Why on earth would the new coaching team be bringing new players in yet? Surely they need to try their ideas with the group of players and then decide where we need to strengthen.

Not that old chestnut again!

When you had a four across the midfield performing as well, and staying as fit, as Pugh, Surman, Arter and Ritchie - just how many games did you expect them to get!

Knew we would sell but media often demonized our back 5 yet we've sold 2 of them for £60m. I hope we can keep the attackers and then we should outscore everyone in the Championship.

Firstly it’s premier league.
Secondly we’ve only sold Ake and Ramsdale
Thirdly Theres another 7 weeks to sign players
Fourthly Lighten up

Don't tell him there's another 7 weeks to sell players as well ;)

Jimmy might have a point, we can only see how it pans out. Its not beyond the realms of possibility that kelly, Wilson. King, Lerma, Brooks, Billing, Rico and Danjuma attract offers or simply want out over the next few months. That will be the core of the team that turned over Everton. We then have the issue of recruiting players to play under JT rather than EH... so a complete rebuild. If so forget promotion.

I must admit every time I log on I'm expecting someone to be gone if the price is right and I reckon this'll ramp up over the next few weeks. I think we need to expect the worst but hope for the best.

I would take a risk and let King run down his last year of contract, I think he would remain professional and his goals could be the difference in getting promoted. He's more than paid back the £1m we spent on him.

I thought this about Fraser last year and it turned out to be wrong. That said King does seem to be able to work hard even if he is pissed off with not getting a move as he showed following the Man United saga this year.
