Non - How many of these do you have?

Got 2/20 on TJ’s list (think I counted about 8 or 9 from the full list), 5 from Kenya’s list, 12 from Al’s, and 4 from Matt’s

I have 5 of the top 10 of al's, cure, new order, u2, banshees, echo.
Only one of the other, the ramones.
Anyone see the ramones at the village bowl, must have been 1979 or 1980.
Saw new order at Reading uni, also u2 there in the student union bar for 50p, cure also at uni

No:
Computer World by Kraftwerk?
Dare by The Human League?
Flowers of Romance by PIL?
Penthouse & Pavement by Heaven 17?
Wha’ppen by The Beat?
Non Stop Erotic Cabaret by The Cure?
Movement by New Order?

Beegads a few classics missing chums!

No 'White Album' by Diamond Head? High 'N Dry by Def Leppard?

Here you go:

;-)

Interesting to see no 'Pyromania' on there if 'High 'N' Dry' is . I can understand 'Hysteria' not being classed as NWOBHM, but would have thought 'Pyromania' would have still qualified. Only about 10 from that list, although years ago the band I was in did support the Tygers and Girlschool. Diamond Head at 1, feels wrong - without the Metallica cover they'd have long been forgotten.

How very dare you! ;-)

Diamond Heads first album was great. I bought a copy at the Gaumont after seeing them support April Wine.

I don't think Def Leppard were at all happy being bracketed in the NWOBHM category!

What band were you in?

1/50 on Kenya's list, and 0 /100 on Al's.

Which might not be surprising given I've 7/11 on this list

The Best Metal Albums of 1980 - Album of The Year

I haven't been lurking long enough to get a feel for the general musical tastes of people. Hopefully, I'm not alone in such tastes.
Try browsing the threads "Never Ending Jukebox" on here. There are three threads, more than 1000 entries. Taste all over the map, but some real nuggets in there.

I bought vinyl back then and I have zero!

In the last few years been to a couple of gigs celebrating 40year anniversaries including abc at royal Albert hall (lexicon of love), Adam ant (Dirk wears white sox) and rezillos and skids (general)

That's first list is awful. Absolutely awful. The more british one I have maybe 9 on vinyl. The 80s was a bit of a barren decade for me music wise compared to the 70s, the first decade that I bought records from start to finish.

60s and 70s were certainly the time to be around for music.

In the 80s I was listening to the likes of Gang of Four and Pere Ubu but I doubt they’ll make many lists.
