My only concern with this, is that if you need to watch the game later to identify the problems then it suggests that you won't be the best manager in making impactful substitutions. The better management teams will have identified the problems within the game and act accordingly.

This isn't anti-JW, just an overall comment. I hope that he did know what was happening, but chose to keep his thoughts within the club, rather than needing to watch the highlights, as by then the opportunity has gone.

My comment doesn't suggest that the manager is unaware of what's happening in the game. Its more about not needing to dissect it in their post match interview

If you drill down to when we had to reshuffle the pack, Pearson and Brooks leaving for Stacey and Wilshere... For about 10 minutes the formation was all over the place and we looked horrible... Could have conceded goals from everywhere and allowed Brentford to really take control of the game...

If JW didn't know what was happening during the game, I doubt we would have seen the second reshuffle that allowed us to get settled again and see the game out with slightly more ease...

I think the thing with JW's post match interviews is he is still talking with adrenaline pumping (when we win) and he interviews like a fan... Everything is just 'great'... I too would like to see a little more Eddie'esque' post match analysis when we lose, as as fans I guess we want to know that what we've seen, he has seen too... But I guess everyone is different and we need to stop comparing everyone to Eddie, as most will fall well short..

Very well put. That's what I was getting at all along (y)
As fans we'd like to hear his analysis of what went wrong after every defeat but it appears that this is not his way, which is fine as long as the analysis takes place at some point. Everybody's different and there is no shame in that.

He can only pick the team for the game, can’t blame him for the referee giving a penalty and Mepham making an error and being red carded.

If Steve Cook had been fit we know he would have started today.

His record in charge this season means JW deserves another chance.

Like his enthusiasm as well and think it had rubbed off on our players.

After 5 minutes today it looked like we might have been on our way to Wembley, but football is a funny old game and that Is why we love it, only today it didn’t love us.
