The counsel representing Lerma should have made much more of the poor character of the prosecution star witness.
However, the same counsel has recently been representing Sheffield Wednesday against the EFL, so he could have had divided loyalties when representing Lerma? Certainly not the Counsel AFCB should have chosen. A counsel specialising in personal dental injuries could well have done a better job.
