I heard family differences have been resolved, he's got a coaching badge, it's going to be T. Mitchell.

Ps Heard this from a dog walking New Forest forager ( think he'd eaten to many of his own mushrooms) : )

The full, lengthy, interview with #AFCB chairman Jeff Mostyn will be out on Monday. Covers a wide range of topics, including questions on key decisions of last 12 months, Demin commitment, board silence, etc. @solentsport

Sounds like the new man / JW will be announced early-mid next week then, to fit timely with Jeff's soundbites about it being finalised, about board commitment etc on Monday.

There can only be roughly five weeks or so until pre-season starts ...... unless something happens soon there’s the possibility that the season will kick-off with the squad nowhere near ready.

Echo now have the story.

The Daily Echo understands cherries have narrowed down shortlist of managerial candidates, which included internal and external options.

As well as Mostyn, chief executive Neill Blake and Richard Hughes have been part of the process with owner Demin set to have the final say on any appointment.

Cherries parted company with legendary boss Eddie Howe last August by mutual consent following relegation from the Premier League.

You’ve got to say this is a very strange appointment process. No rumours of who the other candidates might be. No odds available at the bookmakers. No comment from JW about whether he wants it etc. Supposedly coming to the end of the process and there are zero clues as to who, other than JW, might be on the shortlist.

Does make you wonder if the talk of other candidates from Mostyn is exactly that, talk. And this time next week JW will be sitting on a 2 year deal.

There are enough managers available out there and after the last announcement the club were looking for a new manager and the Henry publicity, not surprised they have kept quiet on who they may ask to be the next manager.

The main thing is getting the right person for AFCB, if they do that without all the publicity of names mentioned before so well and good.

Your post is even stranger. Why should we get any clues as to who theyre talking to?

Not quite sure how to respond to this one Rob. If you don’t keep abreast of football news at clubs other than Bournemouth then I guess fair enough, but generally speaking there are rumours, odds available at the bookies, comments that leak.

Be it high profile like Spurs, Palace, Celtic or lower profile like Bradford, there are usually odds markets available and rumours doing the rounds as to who the favourite is and who the outsiders might be. Even look at Bournemouth after sacking JT, we had Henry, Wagner, Vieira, Terry all rumoured and odds on with the bookies at some stage throughout the process. We had Mark McAdam giving us clues and updates every day or two.

We’re now seemingly going through a manager recruitment process and there is none of that. It’s almost as if it’s not actually real and that in reality we’re going through a contract renewal process rather than a recruitment process. It’s all very strange.
