Eddie to Celtic?

I think if you are a PL chairman EH would not be very high on your list. Out of work for a year - how hungry is he for a job in management.
Good CV with a small club that ended in relegation.

Let's not prejudge the "staff" situation until the Parker debacle has been resolved one way or `another.

Sadly Scott Parker and Graham potter appear above Eddie as the young English manger that plays decent football. Even though their managerial experience is less than ours.

Don’t think a year out during a covid year is an issue but 18 months plus starts being a concern. Maybe Eddie will pay the price for staying too long with us

It’s quite a shame that move didn’t work out for Eddie as one of his most coveted strikers plays there ....... in fact you could say he would have been Ed’s ‘favourite‘.........

Odsonne Edouard ........

You get it? Odsonne ............. Ods - onne ............... favourite - Ods - On ....

Where’d I leave my coat? :wack:

He might be moving nearer to Eddie. ;)

HAMMERS IN EDOUARD HUNT

West Ham are considering a summer move for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, reports Football Insider.

Edouard was heavily linked with a reunion with former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers at Leicester, but the Foxes’ pursuit of Patson Daka from Salzburg has left West Ham in pole position to sign the 23-year-old Frenchman.

Oh our good old friends at ‘football insider.’ I suppose one of these days one of the things they make up is bound to happen. Right?

Personally I think Eddie was a fool to rule himself out of the running of the Bristol City job so quickly. Yes it would have been a huge job and no, it's not a PL job, but turning their fortunes around would have been another huge achievement on his CV. The club seems more than ready for the PL in everything other than on-field.

Eddie Howe is meant for Bournemouth and Bournemouth is meant for Eddie Howe. He will fail wherever else he goes and we will fail without him. Simple.

I don’t think he failed at Burnley. Think it was a tough job and maybe he didn’t have the budget he expected. Did sign some quality players that hugely benefitted the club too. Marv Bartley gives an insight how rotten some of the squad was. Towards the end maybe personal situation was impacting him but to say he failed is a poor assessment imho

Read second post down from our Burnley visitor to this MB from July last year.

I don’t necessarily think someone else can’t bring us ‘success’ (however you define that), but I do agree - Eddie Howe is to us what Fergie was to Man Utd.

...the only thing that I find a bit puzzling is that over the years jobs at Southampton,West Ham,Everton,Newcastle,Tottenham,Arsenal,Crystal Palace, and the like have been vacant and no club has really come in for Howe even when he was at his peak with us and his stock was high?

Maybe because we know what he done for us at AFCB we have overrated him with good reasons related to the tremendous stuff he achieved at our club...

I personally reckon that he will still be an England manager one day as I did when he rocketed us to The PL...I hope that he will one day manage in The PL and get the chance to prove his worth..

Southampton definitely wanted him, and some of his coaching staff. It was one of the latter that confirmed this.
