They are out there Rob and believe me they show a huge reduction in the ratio of cases to hospitalisations and deaths.
There are a number of medical experts who would love to see the continuance of mask wearing to try and reduce the seasonal illnesses like flu etc. Of course there may be some merit in what they say and of course they wish to save every life they can but that approach is not for me. The day I can ditch the damn thing is going to be a good one !!!!!
 
And of course on average for every case in a school age child 25 children are sent home to isolate. Plus teachers, TA’s etc.

Until that changes, cases very much matter.

That situation is absolutely mad. Both the NHS and the hospitality industry are tearing their hair out at losing so many healthy staff for unnecessary isolation requirements. With the link between cases and serious illness broken that has to change.

Got informed last night that year 10 at Poole Grammar school are having to self isolate for 10 days because of a confirmed Covid case in the year bubble.

My son is not happy, can't leave the house until a week Monday and all next weeks lessons will be on zoom and moodle.

What joy for a 14 year old who enjoys being outside.
 
Serious Political Posturing on a Football Forum isn't going to stop the Delta variant or others that crop up through mutating, from affecting kids and giving them a ' long Covid' to blight their emerging lives....Only Serious Discipline from Government down and through the whole population can do that.

So far we have only half- heartedly as a Nation...respected the welfare of the future generations.....think about that as you hug and kiss ..as you stomp around in the filth on beaches...go loopy dancing in nightclubs...going potty when a goal is scored ...swoon with the goons and lemmings if Prince William rides into town grinning like a Dorset cat....jumping up and down like zombies at music venues etc.

It's pretty obvious that many people now are not using the track and trace when going into pubs and restaurants etc. Instead of scanning the code they take a photo instead, I know people that have a big collection of such photos !! I have never used the scanning and prefer to fill in a form but lately its not worth the effort and many places are not asking you to do it. The whole thing is dying a natural death and should be scrapped.

But that doesn't affect the NHS. And how does it compare to previous waves?

That guy gets the same kind of responses on a daily basis. You don’t need a chart to see they are increasing. Double the number of daily admissions to a month ago.

Of course and its a perfectly valid response. Daily admissions are double as are deaths and people on ventilation, but cases are 7 times as high - and yes I know there is a lag.

Well yes admissions are 2-4% of cases, more cases mean more admissions...

That percentage is being pushed down all the time.

Children in isolation isn’t though.
