England Euro 2020

This is where all the 70's hooligans turned boomers start tut-tutting. ;)

when things like this happen, and football 'culture' merges with non-football people, some odd things happen. my daughter, age 26, heard the german bomber song for the first time.... and was not impressed to say the least. she couldnt understand why young men of her age were singing it in a pub in wimborne... when we weren't playing germany, without a thought to german feelings (apparently the pub in question is not showing the game tonight now). we also had discussions as to "why football was coming home". it led to various discussions about how society etc has changed over the past few decades. even my son & mates (mid 20's) told a lot of pissed up old gits singing the bomber song to fook off & grow up. some interesting generational stuff going on.

I wonder if their behaviour will be any different win or lose.

Just come up on Sky.

Group of England fans 'surround Italy supporter and shout abuse'

A senior officer with the Metropolitan Police has detailed an ugly incident in the build up to the England-Italy match.

Chief superintendent Rory Smith says he witnessed "a bunch of England fans surround an Italian supporter out with his family and shout abuse".

He urged fans to enjoy the final "without being abusive or violent".

Agree, very interesting. I'm guessing most people singing that song are over 50, which is pretty sad. There are lots of things to like about football culture I feel, but again that coming from an oldie. Maybe the younger generations have a different view.

There's no real need for that at all.

I also don't like those who start mocking all football fans with their snobbish attitudes.
