Group of England fans 'surround Italy supporter and shout abuse'

A senior officer with the Metropolitan Police has detailed an ugly incident in the build up to the England-Italy match.

Chief superintendent Rory Smith says he witnessed "a bunch of England fans surround an Italian supporter out with his family and shout abuse".

He urged fans to enjoy the final "without being abusive or violent".

We know that in the event of an England defeat, Italian restaurants and even Italian cars will be targetted by morons and it will be the very same morons who booed the Italian anthem.
 
Not sure why the possible starting eleven has been leaked to the media as it then gives Italy time to make a change if they think it’s needed.
 
Italians are great people, 99.5 % of them friendly...their country has a marvellous cultural history....and they love their football as passionately as do we.
We dearly want to beat them...but can we see dignity and fairness from all involved..inclusive of all generations ?...whatever the result.

Shame you can't show the same respect to our Colombian midfielder

Like Italy, had some good holidays over there and their people were hospitable.

I respect him personally...but not the way Our Club deals with priorities...I.e the clubs fortunes before that of individuals...looking at possible problems when bringing people in from faraway places ..for large sums of money!
That's not going to cut any ice with reaction to my posts..I know that...I try to see things practically..if it seems I'm dishing it out..well then I will take the backlashes!
 
I'm predicting 4-2 after extra time..our sub's making the difference...but we have to realise that although Gareth Southgate is riding high....with maybe more glory to come in time....his opponent Mancini is a dangerous obstacle to overcome...with a fair bit more experience of big games.

Interesting output from an Italian journalist earlier....about young players over there getting severe criticism from crowds when they make mistakes.....therefore those that ' make it to International status...are already mentally very strong...and that dates back decades!

Hopefully though..it really is ..Our Time again!
I hope Jimmy Greaves is able to watch this..and they do it big for him !
